Creative Scene Study & Improv
Ages 8-11
Thursday, April 11 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Friday, April 12 4:00 - 6:00 PM
We invite our students, ages 8-11, with prior acting experience to join us for a special two-day immersive workshop with special guest Marin Donohue and KMT Teaching Artist Shellyene (Shey) Lionheart. Go deeper into scene study & applying improv tools and techniques to scripted work!
Students will work with published script materials, and also play with mad-lib style scene creation and improvisation. They'll work on character development, learn the correct language and terms used by theatre professionals when working on scripts, and play "on their feet," putting their learning into action.
This is a process-oriented workshop and it does not end in an open sharing. The students will collaborate and share with each other as part of their creative, constructive collaboration.
Please Note:
Students must have some prior acting experience and be prepared to actively engage in the age-appropriate, more advanced practice offered in this workshop.
