By special request, we are offering a bonus 3-class extension of the current Improv class. The students didn't want the class to end, and asked if we could keep going! We can't do November, but are able to offer this for the first three Tuesdays in December, 3, 10 & 17, 5:30 - 6:30 PM. This class is only open to the students in the current class.
We will be offering Improv again starting in January for new and returning students, please stay tuned for that!

Yes and! In this fun, high-energy class, students will jump into Improvisation, called "Improv" in theatre speak. Improv is non-scripted storytelling that is made up on the spot. It's similar to team sports in that you practice different skills and techniques with your teammates. There are game rules and, within those, you don't know where things will lead! "Yes and.." is a foundational tool and saying where you accept what your teammate has offered as an idea, and then build on it. Improv is an excellent way to practice listening and collaboration.
Improv is about creating theatre stories together. It is a lot of fun and a great way to grow in confidence in theatrical instincts and working with a group. Improv boosts confidence, fosters creativity, brings out your playful side, decreases stress, and allows different students to shine. It builds empathy, trust, and promotes brain connectivity while encouraging students to take risks and improve their skills. It is a great way to practice collaboration and active listening.
No prior experience needed. Repeating this class is welcome. Developing improv skills is a life-long enjoyable adventure!
